Transportation, Maintenance, and Safety
Human Service Center has been providing transportation for individuals to and from the day programs since the beginning of services. Initially, one 32 passenger bus was able to transport all the consumers. Currently we have five buses, each providing services to designated areas of the county and we are frequently faced with a waiting list for individuals to enter services due to the lack of seating available. In addition to the established fixed routes, transportation has extended to the three residential sites, three off site programs, as well as transportation for crisis intervention services.

Human Service Center purchased a semi tractor and trailer in 2000 for the State Use Program,

which delivers non- perishable food items to prisons and state operated facilities through out the state of Illinois.

Although this department employees 5 full time employees, the direct care staff also share in driving responsibilities.

Maintenance: Employees in transportation also share the responsibilities of the maintenance needs of the agency.

Safety: The coordinator of the transportation and maintenance also have the responsibility of being the safety coordinators for the agency. Each site has a designated safety person who shares in the responsibilities of being safety compliant .
